This is our latest addition to our unit. We have added an on-board 3 axis Accelerometer. What is an accelerometer, you might ask? An accelerometer is a tool that measures the rate of change of velocity in relation to itself. For example, an accelerometer at rest on the surface of the Earth will measure an acceleration due to Earth's gravity. By contrast, accelerometers in free fall, falling towards Earth will measure zero or nothing. So, what does all this mean for your boat? That windstorm or other boater creating too much wake, that rocks your boat around, that is all measurable. So, in the event that a dock line breaks and your boat slams against the dock or someone accidentally runs into your boat, that is all measurable. Since we can now monitor those events, you can now be notified of them as well.

No one likes the Bumps and Bruises that happen to their boat, but the do happen, and minimally it is nice to know that we have a tool to let us know when they happen.
