You get either Daily, Weekly, or Monthly Report. This gives you some basic information as to the status of your boat. This just lets you know that the BoatNark is still on the job. It is also for peice of mind.

This system not only sends text messages, it also has an audible alarm, as well as an external LED indicator as well. This enables you to know that there is something going on as soon as possible. In the event that you don't have your phone with you and you miss the text message, the unit also makes an audible alarm signal, as well as Flashes a Red LED to try to get someones attention.

In the event of an alarm, the unit will text up to 4 differnt phone numbers, so someone should be able to respond. The system also requires a form of acknoledgement which can be texted to the unit as PIN Number "ACK". The LED Indicator is also a button, that is an acknoldge button, to both silence the audible alarm and stop the LED indicator from flashing. The LED will remain lit until the issue is resolved.

PIN Number Verification

Unfortunately even our unit requires the use of a PIN Number. This Pin Number is setup by you and prevents any spammer form accidently triggering the wrong thing. Your PIN is just a 4 Digit number that you start off any text message with. It is just a kind of verification for your boat's safety and yours.

This system is not set in stone! In otherwords, if you prefer a different type of float swtich, that is fine. Perhaps you want to add the cellular connection to your own phone plan, no problem we just require a Mini SIM Card of your choice.

We understand, which is why we have tried to make this as flexible as possible. You can choose almost any type of sensors / input devices you want, with one condition, there are basic rules for most of the inputs. Fume Dectection and Motion Detector can be a 5Vdc dicrete output unit or a non-powered, either Normally Open or Normally Closed contact closure. The Float Switches need to be a non-powered, either Normally Open or Normally Closed contact closure. Both the Auxillary and Ignition Inputs are strictly 12Vdc inputs. It is up to you!

Configuration      Simplicty

Whether you use our Application or just use something like NotePad, TextEdit, or what ever your preference is, on pretty much any device that you can access a MicroSD Card. IT is a simple Text File (no special encoding) that is easy to read.

Brains and Brawn      Strength

This unit is based on one of the most tried and tested microcontrollers on the market. Considering when I started using computers, this unit has more power than a few of the ones that I played with. This unit is a high-performance, low-power Microchip 8-bit AVR RISC-based microcontroller combines 256KB ISP flash memory, 8KB SRAM, 4KB EEPROM, 86 general purpose I/O lines, 32 general purpose working registers, real time counter, six flexible timer/counters with compare modes, PWM, 4 USARTs, byte oriented 2-wire serial interface, 16-channel 10-bit A/D converter, and a JTAG interface for on-chip debugging. The device achieves a throughput of 16 MIPS at 16 MHz.
